LIMOR GANOT​

Managing Partner
Ms. Ganot is a certified CPA who started her professional journey at the corporate finance division of KPMG. Throughout her career Ganot led various acquisitions, dealt with IPO’s, private placements, turnaround situations and created growth strategies for mature and startup companies. Ganot is a board member of Diners Club Israel and a member of the management of the Israeli friends of the Weizmann Institute of Science, which is one of the world’s leading multidisciplinary basic research institutions in the natural and exact sciences. She also serves as a Non-Executive Director at 888 Holdings, one of the world's leading gaming entertainment and solutions provider. Ganot is the former Co-CEO of NYSE listed Alon Blue Square Israel, which while under her management, had revenue of $3.5 billion and operated in various sectors: energy, retail, communications, financial services and real estate. Ms. Ganot received her Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Economics from Tel Aviv University.

SHELDON I. STEIN​

Sheldon “Shelly” Stein is the former President of Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, the largest distributor of wine and spirits in the US, and the CEO of Glazer’s Beer and Beverage, the third largest Miller Coors distributor. Mr. Stein was previously the President and CEO of Glazer’s, Inc. where he led the company in its corporate turnaround and successfully merged the company with Southern Wine & Spirits. Prior to his work at Glazer’s, Mr. Stein was a Vice Chairman and head of Southwest Investment Banking for Bank of America, Merrill Lynch. Before that, Mr. Stein ran Bear Stearns’ Southwest Investment Banking Group and was a member of Bear Stearns’ President Advisory Council. Mr. Stein is also a former partner at the Dallas law firm Hughes & Luce, where he specialized in corporate finance, mergers, and acquisitions. Mr. Stein serves on the Board of Directors of Tailored Brands, Inc., ALON USA Partners, LP, and Ace Cash Express, and is also on the Advisory Board of Amegy Bank. He has served as a Trustee of Brandeis University and was a member of the Board of Overseers of the Brandeis Graduate School of Economics and Finance. Mr. Stein received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude from Brandeis University where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

DAVID WIESSMAN

David Wiessman is an entrepreneur and philanthropist who owns numerous businesses in Israel and the US, including Sonol, one of the leading oil companies and convenience store operators in Israel. Mr. Wiessman was previously the President & CEO of Alon Israel, a retail, oil and real estate conglomerate that he founded and under his leadership reached $12B of revenue. Mr. Wiessman effectively started Alon Israel and built it over twenty years into the largest retail company in Israel. Mr. Wiessman successfully led Alon Israel into the United States with the purchase of all of the downstream assets of TotalFina, forming Alon USA Energy, a company that merged with Delek US to form a $2.8 billion company traded on the NYSE. Mr. Wiessman, who is a veteran of the Israeli Air Force, won the Israeli Globes ‘Man of the Year’ award in 2005 and the Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of the Year regional award in 2007.

SNIR WIESSMAN​

Snir Wiessman is the president and CEO of Israel Oil and Gas fund, LP. From 2007 to 2015, Mr. Wiessman worked as a Senior Manager of Business Development and Mergers & Acquisitions at Alon Israel. In his position at Alon Israel, Mr. Wiessman often led the company’s efforts in dealing with both private and public capital markets. Mr. Wiessman also led Alon Israel’s emerging markets team where he was focused on determining entry solutions into new markets. Mr. Wiessman received his B.Sc. in electrical engineering from Ben Gurion University with honors and his MBA from the Tel Aviv University, Recanati Business School. Mr. Wiessman served in the Israeli military’s elite intelligence branch 8200, the equivalent of the National Security Agency (NSA) in the United States.

ADI BENDOR

Associate
Ms. Adi Bendor is an associate at Gefen Capital. Prior to joining Gefen Capital, Adi was an Investment Analyst at Intel Capital, the venture arm of Intel Corporation, focused on investments in paradigm-shifting startups. During her academic studies, Adi was a part of the investment team at Cactus Capital, and a Research Assistant at the Bio-Empathy Lab of Developmental Psychology. Adi served as an Information Security Officer in several special operations units (Duvdevan and 8200) of the Israel Defense Force. Adi holds a B.A in Psychology, Pollical Science, and Conflict Management from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

DAVID APFELBAUM​

Venture Partner
Mr. David Apfelbaum, Adv., has been part of Gefen Capital since 2018 and received the title of Venture Partner after serving as the fund's Principal for several years. Apfelbaum has sourced and led a material number of the fund's investments and continues to support the fund's portfolio companies as Observer and Director. Apfelbaum comes from a multidisciplinary background. Prior to joining Gefen, Apfelbaum Worked at Google Israel as a product specialist as part of the Google Duplex Voice AI project. Mr. Apfelbaum is a member of the Israeli Bar Association, admitted December 2015, and is experienced in practicing corporate law in one of Israel's top tier law firms. Mr. Apfelbaum holds an LL.B in Law and a B.A in Business Management from Reichman University (formerly the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya IDC). Mr. Apfelbaum served in 8200 Unit of the Intelligence Corps of the Israel Defense Force.
